Who Are We?
As a 16-year-young church our doors are open to people from all backgrounds and ethnicities, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. We come from many different backgrounds and nations and value the diversity that God provides here. Being a crossroads of the university and community, we are excited as God sends new people to us to share the gift of their lives.
Our purpose is to develop a positive community where all who desire to experience new life in Christ may come and grow in His love together.
We are:
- A place where God's love is felt
- A casual and accepting atmosphere
- A people with a heart for those who are seeking God
- A diversity of people from many cultures and backgrounds
- A blend of traditional and contemporary elements in worship
- Always learning using practical, life relevant teaching from the timeless truths of God's word
- A church where quality children and youth programming is valued
- A body of people where leadership modeled in servanthood
- A church that recognizes, encourages, and developes each person's talents and gifts
- Small groups "doing life together" and growing spiritually with friends
- Commited to serving the community and the world
Our Background
We are a part of the Reformed Church in America (RCA), one of the oldest denominations in North America. The RCA has approximately 940 congregations in the United States and Canada and over 250 missionaries and mission-partners throughout the world. In Iowa, we are over 75 churches strong. Our three colleges - Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, Central College in Pella, Iowa and Hope College in Holland, Michigan - are all recognized as high-quality Christian liberal arts institutions. To belong to a Reformed Church, thus, is to be part of a warm, historic North American family of Christians.
