IMPACT

Living out Jesus’ Great Commandment & Commission

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,

baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”  Matthew 28:19

LOCALLY

Reaching the needy and the lost in our own community.

*Good Samaritan Efforts:  We support those in our community and in our own church who are need physically, spiritually or financially in need, and also support the area's Common Fund which supports those individuals on a local level as well.

*Free Lunch:  We support and serve the Noon Free Lunch at Wesley House regularly feeding hundreds of our areas homeless people.

*Table to Table:  We support Table to Table which is an organization that utilizes unused food from local restaurants by taking it to homeless shelters, the Free Lunch Program and others in need.

*Food Pantry:  We support the Coralville Ecumenical Food pantry located at the end of our building.  The food pantry offers food for families in need and serves now 160 families in our area.  The food pantry hours are Tuesdays 2-6pm and Saturdays 10-2pm.  We also have our own food pantry located in our church that serves those who may walk in when the food pantry is not open.

*Habitat for Humanity:  We support Habitat for Humanity by not only going out and building houses for those in need, but we also support the organization financially and serve on the leadership teams.

*Rockin Comedy Community Night:  Music and laughter have brought people together for years!  During the city of Coralville's 4th Fest, we put on a free concert for the community in ST Morrison Park with christian comedians and popular christian rock bands.  There is great, inexpensive food for families and a Kidz Zone play area for the kids!  We encourage all to come out and bring their friends and consider it a great way to show Jesus to the community!

*Neighborhood Outreach BBQ’s:  We love getting to know our neighbors with our neighborhood BBQ's.  We laugh, grill great food, and have children's games such as the inflated jump play house!  Just another way to spread a little of Jesus' love into our community!

           GLOBALLY

Reaching those around our world who are in physical and spiritual poverty.

*Mission support in Niger: We support Jeremy and Dr. Susan Beebout and their family as they serve a community in Niger.  By supplying medical help and education and also by educating the local people on bettering their agricultural process, the Beebouts are equipping the village people with a better way of life.   We also support Tom & Aichatou Johnson in Niger.  Tom is an International Development Specialist and teaches English and works with Bible School students and his wife Aichatou is one of the locals in the community they serve.

*Mission support in the Phillipines: We support Malcolm & Mary Cleope and their family with their aviation ministry in the Phillipines.  Pacific Missionary Aviations flies to remote islands in the Phillipines taking medical supplies to clinics and orphanages.

*Mission support in Cambodia: Our very own Anita Jeyachandran from New Life Church is now serving in Cambodia.  Anita is teaching English as a second language and conducting Professional Development Workshops at the International Institute for Christians at Royal University in Phnom-Penh.

*Mission support for world traveler Londa VanderWal: Another one of our very own!  We are never very sure of where Londa is-could be the Gambia, or Rome, or in a recent facebook posting we found her in Liberia!  Wherever Londa goes to be the light in our world, our New Life prayers go with her.

*Mission trips worldwide:  In March of 2008 five people from New Life Church went to Niger Africa to support the Beebouts.  Among the things we did were getting to know the leadership from the EERN (Evangelical Church of the Republic of Niger), doing some repairs at a medical clinic and school house, engaging with Nigerian village people, learning about the culture and seeing the beauty of Africa.  We also saw firsthand what Jeremy and Susan are doing.  It was an awesome trip and we pray God will continue to empower the Beebouts in their work in Niger and strengthen our commitment to being a mission-minded church. See our slideshow below!

*Words of Hope:  We support this organization whose mission is to help build the Church worldwide through their worldwide radio program and print media.
