Ministries

The New Life Journey discipleship track is a 4 stage opportunity for those who are being lead by God towards spiritual growth through higher levels of commitment, learning, and shared experiences with other believers. Each stage takes place over the course of an entire year (Sept - May).  One of the stages, Truth Quest, can be taken by anyone at any point in time. The other three VantagePoint3 stages build upon one another.

Each of the stages involves personal prayer, reading, and journaling along with around 20 sessions of meeting together with a group (Sept - May). The time commitment for each session is 3-6 hours. The meetings typically occur on weeknights.

Truth Quest

The focus of the Truth Quest stage is on Biblical Theology. Participants will study the Christian beliefs about the Bible, the character of God in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, humanity, spiritual beings, and the Church.  Prayer and support of other participants is an integral part of Truth Quest as with the other stages. The theology study comes with application of it towards life's biggest questions and how the answers are lived out in Biblical community.  Truth Quest can be taken at any time in the New Life Journey - before, in-between, or after the other three stages.

Vantage Point 3 (VP3) discipleship pathway is intended for adult believers who want to deepen their faith, grow in discipleship with other believers, and expand their impact for Christ. As described below, VP3 includes three phases:

  • The Journey

  • A Way of Life

  • Walking with Others

The three phases are intended to be completed in order.  Some people complete two or three phases of VP3, and others only The Journey. No matter how many phases you complete, your relationship with Christ and other believers will be deepened through the process!

How Does VP3 Work?

VP3 groups include men and women, young and old, experienced leaders and those just beginning to explore their potential. The group, typically 6-12 people along with a trained facilitator, meets weekly with a few breaks from September through May.  The facilitator encourages accountability, safe relationships, thoughtful reflection, honest conversation, and prayer. The members also spend personal time in prayer, reflection, journaling and reading to prepare for the group meetings. There is a cost for the VP3 materials and scholarships are available.

What Are The Three Phases?

The Journey

The Journey is a life changing discipleship and spiritual formation process for adult believers. This set of experiences and relationships will guide participants into a personal exploration of three primary questions in their lives:

Who is God? Who am I? What does God desire to do through me?

The Journey consists of three stages:

  • Stage 1: Biblical Foundations

  • Stage 2: Personal Foundations

  • Stage 3: Relationship Foundations

A Way of Life

God is up to something good. A  Way of Life encourages greater attention to and alignment with God’s gracious way in your life, your community and the world. A Way of Life will invite you into a set of reflections, practices and relationships that will help you explore and sustain a way of life faithful to God’s good work.

A Way of Life consists of three stages:

  • Stage 1: Friendship with God

  • Stage 2: Community with Others

  • Stage 3: Mission on the Way

Prerequisite: The Journey

Walking with Others

Walking with Others is for those who share the Apostle Paul’s deep concern – helping others grow up in every way…into Christ (Ephesians 4:15). You will be challenged to take a next step in your development – learning to guide other adults toward a deeper maturity in Christ. Your life is not your own; it is a gift you offer to others and to the Lord. How then is this gift of your unique life to become a gift for others?

Walking with Others consists of three stages:

  • Stage 1: A Place of Learning and Formation

  • Stage 2: A Lifelong Perspective

  • Stage 3: A Leadership of Companionship

Prerequisites: The Journey and A Way of Life
